SAPSA Dedicated Sport Status

Should you wish to attain "Dedicated Sport Status" as a sports shooter at the PE Rifle & Pistol Club, then you will need to join the South African Practical Shooting Association (SAPSA) - you have to apply through a recognised shooting club (e.g. PERPC), in the province in which you are domiciled.

Join the Port Elizabeth Rifle & Pistol Club, and include the SAPSA option. Additional family members living under the same roof, or junior members under 21 years old, pay half price.

The Port Elizabeth Rifle & Pistol Club will process your SAPSA registration and advise you of your SAPSA membership number.

Kindly note:

To qualify for Dedicated Sport Status you must first of all be affiliated to SAPSA, i.e. your membership must be current, and in good standing.
Thereafter, you need to obtain 6 shooting credits per year. You will accumulate 1 credit for each IPSC-accredited Club competition, 2 for a Provincial competition and 3 credits for each National competition you participate in. After you have obtained a minimum of 6 credits within a 12-month calendar year, you can apply for a letter from SAPSA, declaring your Dedicated Sport Status.

It is each shooter’s responsibility to keep track of his/her credits.
